Alexa Customer Journeys team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist in the mission to make Alexa an expert on itself, providing useful information and experiences to customers seeking to take advantage of all of their devices’ features and capabilities.
You will be working with machine learning, Large Language Model (LLM) and other generative technologies. You will be working with our interdisciplinary team of Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Product Managers to design customer-facing solutions with Alexa. You will take a central role in defining our experimental roadmap, sourcing training data, authoring annotation criteria and building automated benchmarks to continue to make Alexa an expert in itself.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Data Scientist on this team, you will:
Be the technical leader in machine learning; lead efforts within this team and across other teams.
Perform hands-on analysis and modeling of enormous data sets to develop insights that increase customer engagement and monetization.
Drive end-to-end machine learning projects that have a high degree of ambiguity, scale, complexity.
Build machine learning models, perform proof-of-concept, experiment, optimize, and deploy your models into production; work closely with product managers and engineers to assist in productionizing your models.
Run experiments, gather data, and perform statistical analysis.
Recruit scientists to the team and provide mentorship.

Basic Qualifications
Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
4+ years of data scientist experience
Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience
Experience managing data pipelines
Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
