Wells Fargo Database Engineering Manager in Hyderabad, India

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Database Engineering Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop teams that maximize quality, efficiency and productivity

  • Evaluate the database configuration and processes according to established policies and procedures of the organization

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

  • Establish performance standards, evaluate performance, train and mentor team

  • Develop in policies and procedures and training materials

  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding objectives and operations of the fleet assets in the database management area to meet business objectives

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility

  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers

  • Lead team to achieve objectives

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Database Management

  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Database Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Database Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years in MongoDB Administration ( OnPrem, Atlas)

  • MongoDB Administration - Provisioning/Build MongoDB Databases, Sharding , Replication , Connection management, Opsmanager - Configure, maintenance, Monitor, Alerting, Performance tuning, Scaling, Indexing, Backup & restore, Recovery .

  • Knowledge & Hands on with mongodb Atlas is desirable

  • Exposure to Automation tools/methods of Database Infrastructure

  • Experience in Incident/Change Management, Technology vendor/Stakeholder management, RCA

  • Experience in managing senior team members and ability to mentor and coach the team.

  • Proficient in Executive presence and excelling the art of business presentations.

  • Exposure to Orchestration or Automation scripting or tools like Python , Ansible, Powershell etc.

  • Experience with enterprise observability tools/platforms like Grafana/Prometheus/Splunk etc.

Job Expectations:

  • Will be managing a group of 8-15 team who are senior and well experienced with Database infrastructure operations.

  • Expected to drive Organization/Function level objectives to successful outcomes.

  • Mentor and Coach team members

  • Executive business reviews and reporting.

  • Drive efficiency & automation Initiatives with goal of Toil reduction & enabling Observability

  • Establish practices and process for standardizing and maturing MongoDB operations.

  • Expected to maintain & improve the synergy between global, Platform & CIO business teams.
