This individual will have a key influence on the organization and the success of delivering our key global manufacturing strategic initiatives. This person plays a critical role by leading and influencing the development and deployment of manufacturing strategies, systems, technologies, and best practices across Hyster-Yale’s global manufacturing network. This individual interacts with all aspects and at all levels of the organization from the factory floor to the C-Suite including product development and manufacturing engineering, global manufacturing operations, procurement / supply chain and quality functions. Responsibilities:

  • Leads development and deployment of global tooling and fabrication manufacturing strategies, systems, technologies, and best practices, to drive global manufacturing capability advances that meet future business needs

  • Leads the Hyster-Yale tool design team for major weld fabrications and assembly tooling

  • Drives best common manufacturing processes and practices across the global network

  • Champions and represents global fabrication tooling and associated activities on New Product Development Programs

  • Contributes to virtual build, simulation, and overall manufacturing maturity initiatives

  • Identifies, mitigates, and monitors project risks to cost, schedule, budget, and project performance objectives

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

  • 5 years working in a combination of engineering and leadership roles with direct fabrication, welding, and assembly experiences in the general metalworking industry comprised of build-to-order discrete products

  • Experience as a core/functional lead team member within a New Product Introduction (NPI) / Product Development Process

  • Demonstrated proficiency leading global initiatives in a matrix organization

  • Skills and experience developing innovative / novel approaches to manufacturing challenges associated with fabrication tooling and systems

  • Ability to take a directional concept and develop detailed requirements and a structured program around conceptual development, prove out, and application

  • Proficiency in CAD / CAM / 3D Modelling with working understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing highly desired

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management disciplines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellence in use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Potential for increasing levels of responsibilities and position advancement to senior executive levels in 5 – 10 years

  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment with ability to adjust to shifting project priorities in response to customer or company needs

  • Proficient demonstration, at the manager level of Leadership Competencies: Drive for Results, Be Innovative, Be Strategic, Demonstrate Business Acumen, Develop & Empower

  • Willing to travel globally 5-10% of time typically and up to 25% for special projects on occasion
