**[Usual duties: [The Department of Mass Communication at Sam Houston State University welcomes applications for the tenure-track Assistant Professor in Sports Media Production. The position begins Fall 2024.
[The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of all phases of television and video production, with the ability to teach multi-camera production in both field and studio settings. Class assignments will largely support the growing sports media minor, with 3 courses per semester in Sports Media Production, Multi-Camera Field Production, including remote van operation and video editing, a practicum course offering hands-on experience in live sports recording and production, and Multi-Camera Studio Production. The faculty member may also create and launch new sports media and/or production courses, based on their expertise.
[The selected candidate will oversee the departments National Sports Media Association chapter, assist with department and university production projects, and manage activities in the production studios. As a tenure-track faculty member, the selected candidate is required to engage in research and/or creative activity. The faculty member should also expect to participate in departmental and university service and remain active in the field, reflecting such activity in teaching and student engagement.
