Tomahawk Weapon System Project Lead

The Mid-Range Capability (MRC) is an Army weapon system that uses the Navys SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles along with their associated weapon control systems launched from a land-based version of the MK 41 Vertical Launching System. In order to accomplish this mission, the MRC Project Office maintains close and continuous communications with Navy Program Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) Program Office (PMA-280) and Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) Program Office (PMA-281)

The TWS Project Lead will work for the MRC Project Office while being embedded with PMA 280. The TWS Project Lead will report to the MRC Weapons Coordinator and MRC Deputy Program Manager. The TWS Project Lead, is required to liaise with the PMA 280 and PMA 281 to ensure that Mid-Range Capability (MRC) equities are being addressed. The TWS Project Lead will assist the MRC Weapons Coordinator and program management team in integrating updates, upgrades, and changes to the TWS into the MRC program. The TWS Project Lead is expected to work directly with PMA-280 and PMA-281 personnel to advocate for MRC requirements and provide MRC leadership with status updates and recommendations on progress of MRC updates to the TWS and TMPC.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain the Master Program Plan (MPP)

  • Meeting coordination

``` - Negotiate support agreements with external agencies,

  • Maintain financial records and spend plans including obligations and disbursements

  • Provide subject matter expertise during technical meetings

  • Brief leadership across organizations and at various levels from O6-O9.

  • Maintain an action item tracker and ensure adjudication of action items in a timely manner agreed upon by the Program Office.

Required Travels: 25%

Required Skills:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility

  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups outside immediate work unit.

  • Ability to synthesis information across multiple functional areas including: Test and Evaluation, Cyber Security, System Safety, Human System Engineering, Integrated Logistic Support, Software, Hardware and Interoperability

  • A thorough understanding of policies and instructions originated and maintained by NAVSEA, PMA 280/281, and related organizations in order to maintain compliance with the governance.

  • Ability to take the initiative on customer support.

  • Accustomed to briefing senior leadership at the GO level.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)

Required Experience:

  • At least three (3) year of experience with Tomahawk Weapon System operations or with the Tomahawk Project Office.

  • A thorough understanding and experience with TWS and all of the support elements (sensors, system controls, weapons)

  • At least two (2) years of DoD acquisition experience

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Five to ten (5-10) years of experience with the Tomahawk Weapon System

  • Five to ten (5-10) years of overall project management experience relating to DoD

  • An understanding of the detect to engage principles for primary and secondary mission areas, the ability to apply those principals to various platforms, and an understanding of the Warfare Domains (land, sea, air, space, cyber).
