This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama with possible relocation to Sochaczew Poland.
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Military Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals located in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Military Training Team.
Primary responsibilities include; provides consulting expertise to military or defense clients in the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine, plan and execute some or all phases of military training, including instructional delivery, doctrinal development, scenario driven exercises, and after-action review and analysis. Will function as a member of a Training Team by performing instructor-led training to DOD Civilians and deploying units in both garrison and field environments. Assist with the accountability and maintenance of equipment used in support of all training; assist with the development of training material used in support of all training. Conducts formal training to military or defense clients and supports the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine.
Duties include:
Reviews field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment
Establishes calibration requirements for filed systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks
Performs maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers
Reviews handbooks for technical adequacy
Participates in doctrinal development, embedded training scenario development, practical exercise development, test question development and after-action review and analysis
Writes and maintains detailed reports that summarize training event conduct and metrics such as student enrollment, student demographics, student attendance, student pass/fail percentages, suggested improvements to the course materials and training aids, etc.
Conducts on-site training consisting of lectures, and practical exercises in accordance with approve programs of instruction using lesson plans, instructor guide, electronics technical manuals, interactive electronic technical manuals, student guides, handouts, practical exercise worksheets, and both written and hand-on evaluations
Demonstrates specialized expertise in planning and executing all phases of military training exercises
Provides feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user comments
This position requires extended travel to multiple CONUS/OCONUS locations including Poland. The Military Trainer role requires Security+ and Linux+ certifications within six months from the date of assignment to IA/IT roles.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors in Science Degree with 6 years’ experience – Master’s Degree with 4 year experience
Possess experience with Air Defense Systems
Ability to Travel domestically and internationally
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
U.S. citizenship required
Possess a complete understanding of technical applications in the field
Provides training schedules and agenda
Provides Course content and objectives
Possess problem-solving skills
Considered an expert in the field within the organization
Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
Ability to provide consulting expertise to military customer/user in the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine
Candidate’s employment, if selected, is probationary and contingent upon the following requirements:
Candidate understands and is willing to perform tasks and duties in an austere environment with varying and potentially extreme environmental conditions
Candidate must have a valid passport with an expiration date which is greater than 36 months at time of employment offer
Candidate agrees and understands that failure to meet or maintain the requirements of all above listed conditions is grounds for dismissal from employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Military Veteran Air Defense Artillery (ADA)
Experience working with embedded training systems
Demonstrates specialized expertise in planning and executing all phases of military training exercises
Provides feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user comments
Provides updated information on the system capabilities through direct liaison with remote engineers
System administration experience with the following: Red Hat Enterprise Linux and experience operating within a Continuous Deliver/Continuous Integration culture
Ability to lead technical briefings with the customer and end user, and provide recommendations as to the employment of the weapon system
Liaison represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects
Provides consulting expertise to military or defense clients in the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine
Specialized expertise in planning and executing some or all phases of military training exercises
Expertise with scenario development, and After-Action Review (AAR) and analysis
Team-up with soldiers’ instructors and/or civilian instructors when necessary
Represents organization on specific projects
Certified Military Trainer (NGC) or Certified Military Instructor (Branch Qualified)
Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $118,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
