Job Summary

The Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist (SME) is a highly skilled and experienced individual responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of critical cyber defense infrastructure. This role requires significant experience with Linux-based environment administration, expertise in testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and administering infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity, and proficiency in developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs for cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have experience integrating third-party components, introducing new custom capabilities, modifying existing code, recommending process improvements, and automating operations and maintenance tasks. Familiarity with Splunk, Oracle/SQL-based platforms, and Python is also highly desirable. The specialist will play a key role in protecting critical cyber defense resources, implementing security frameworks, and ensuring the ongoing integrity and effectiveness of cyber defense systems.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration of cyber defense systems

  • Assisting in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure and key resources

  • Building, installing, configuring, and testing dedicated cyber defense hardware

Required Minimum Education

  • Education should be consistent with experience. Relevant experience and professional certifications can outweigh the need for a formal college degree

Required Years of Experience

  • 10 years of relevant professional work experience

Required Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, etc.

  • Fully Adjudicated Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance or greater Splunk Enterprise Security

  • Experience with Linux based environment administration

  • Experience testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and administering infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity

  • Experience developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs for cybersecurity

Preferred Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, etc.

  • Experience integrating third-party components, the introduction of new custom capabilities, modification of existing code, process improvement recommendation, and automation of operations and maintenance tasks

  • Experience with Splunk, Oracle/SQL based platforms, and python

Preferred Certifications:

  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate
