Avionics Integration Engineerto provide Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-loop (SIL) testbed support for the avionics systems and the flight software of the StarLab program.The StarLab will be a low Earth orbit (LEO) space station that will serve as a business park for commercial space and space tourism activities!This work will be performed in Houston, Texas.

Key Duties:

  • Provide Hardware-In-the-Loop and Software-In-the-Loop testbed support for avionics and flight software development, integration, and tests.
  • Support planning and implementation of the SIL and emulators.
  • Support the definition of System Integration Lab (SIL) HIL/SIL requirements, architecture, and build/setup plans.
  • Support certification of the SIL for the testing of avionics and software.
  • Support avionics andflight software integration in the SIL.
  • Support development and test objectives of subsystem integration, Mission Ops, and AIandT stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external partners and customers regarding SIL avionics and software integration. :::

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • 20 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience performing avionics and software integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience with space system design, development, and test.
  • Experience with NASA manned spaceflight.
