Aerotek is seeking a Storekeeper/Inventory Control

Job Description

The Storekeeper/Inventory Control role is pivotal in managing the inventory of tools, equipment, and raw materials. You will work with the existing inventory system and seek opportunities for enhancement. Your accountability will span across tracking inventory, conducting cycle counts, and managing the ERP system to ensure accurate and timely updates.

Responsibilities

  • Receive materials physically and process them in the ERP system (BAAN) promptly to ensure continuous updates.

  • Issue materials physically and record transactions in BAAN as per work instructions to keep data current.

  • Maintain the Kanban system in the stores and collaborate with the purchasing department for accurate documentation.

  • Store items following product storage instructions and maintain inventory for items outside the store, such as thread protectors, raw materials, and gases.

  • Ensure the FIFO method is followed for raw materials, particularly glass.

  • Conduct all phases of cycle counting accurately and frequently as indicated in work instructions.

  • Inspect incoming shipments for compliance with quantity and condition per the provided documentation.

  • Inform Quality Control upon receipt of raw materials to initiate inspection.

  • Pack and unpack items, stocking them on shelving systems and distributing items within the plant.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of inventory control and ERP systems.

  • Experience in inventory management, shipping, receiving, and cycle counting.

  • Proficiency in forklift operation and picking tasks.

  • Self-accountability with a minimum of 5 years of high-level inventory experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to take over and manage inventory systems.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work with various departments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
