Position: RN
Client: Harris County Jail
Specialty Needed: Client has a strict preference on ERwith trauma 1 experience. MedSurg will be considered. candidate must becomfortable working in a very fast pace environment.
Pay Rate: $50hr; OT $75hr
Credentials Needed: Texas license, SAMA (only offered inTexas. can complete during credentialing) compact licensure also accepted
Looking at a May start date due to jail clearance- if clearedsooner, can start sooner!
Number of Openings: 10, 5 nights 6pm-6am & 5 days6am-6pm (must arrive 15 min early andleave 15 min after to allow time to give report)
Shift Details: 36 - 48hrs. 2 weekends a month required.Weekend = Fri, Sat, Sun. May be scheduled 48hrs every other week depending onthe unit. PANAMA team schedule. 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, etc. (2-2-3). NOBLOCK SCHEDULING. NO SELF SCHEDULING. NO MORE THAN 24 HRS OF RTO ACCEPTED PER13 WEEKS
Overtime: Could be every other week, NOT GUARANTEED
Length of Contract: 13 weeks - only 24 hrs of RTO will beaccepted per 13 weeks
Experience Needed: Min. 2 years experience in currentlicensed role (RN). Client has a strict preference on ER with trauma 1experience (2 year min). MedSurg will be considered.. Epic experience required.Triage skills is a plus. Make sure candidate is aware they will need to pay forparking - it is about $5-$6/ day. FLU required as soon as its in season andavailable, COVID NOT required. ONLY TEXAS RESIDENTS WILL BECONSIDERED
Feedback Time: The Jail is extremely busy and feedback couldtake up to two weeks. If the HCP is a good fit, they will likely receive anoffer.
Submission Requirements: Houston Core Submissiontemplate, Resume, SSC, DL, candidate questionnaire (in attachments), HSCOclearance forms - local office can send these out via docusign
Other Notes: Client is most interested insecuring HCPs who are wanting 1 year plus on assignment and they prefer localcandidates when possible. Cellphones and other contraband is not allowed -phones must be left in the vehicle. If they're a traveler, make them aware theymust be fingerprinted in Houston at the Harris County Sheriff's Office. FACEAND NECK TATTOOS ARE PROHIBITED PER TATTOO POLICY
Clearance Process:
After candidate accepts offer: Offer is notofficial until cleared with Sheriffs office
Candidate will need to be cleared with the Sheriffs office. This could take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. If arrest record, it could take even longer
Once the candidate clears with the sheriffs BGs i will email you to let you know they are cleared and start date which will be 2-3 weeks from their clearance date. . Candidate must schedule their fingerprints within 10 days of the date they are cleared. (TRAVELERS MUST FINGERPRINT AT THE HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE)
In the meantime, I will need nursys, attestation form and diploma to send over to the nurse manager to start their clearance process with HR.
Nurse manager will then send their welcome letter with further instructions to complete modules and pick up their Harris Health Badge. I would give them 24-48hrs to complete the modules. Please make sure to request a screen shot of their module cert for proof of completion and of their Harris Health badge.
Forward certificate and badge to receive final clearance and FDIs.
ALL DOCUMENTS ARE DUE TO NURSE MANAGER WEDNESDAY BY 12PM CST BEFORE THEIR MONDAY START DATE
