The opportunity
Prepare drawings detailing the systems designed.
System load calculations to establish Basis of Design for the following systems.
Building Fire Protection System
Building Storm Sewer System
Rainwater Harvesting System
Building Sanitary Sewer and Vent System
Building Cold Water System
Building Hot Water System
Building DI/RO Water System
Hospital Medgas System
Laboratory Acid Waste System
Laboratory/Industrial Specialty Gas System
Natural Gas System
Report writing, writing summaries of the calculation methodologies employed
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
Collaborate and coordinate with engineers of other disciplines, companies, and external consultants.
Incorporate sustainable design methods in building
Select equipment for use in building systems.
Construction administration – site visits, submittal reviews
Contact local code officials
Assisting and preforming calculations for design specific piping systems for a variety of projects

Required
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, sanitary, architectural engineering
Coursework in fluid hydraulics/piping/fluid dynamics
Confirmed interest in the built environment
Ability to work with clients
Good timemanagement habits, ability to multi-task, ability to sustain focus on long tasks
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
Perspective of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativity
Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills crucial for team-based working
Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

EIT/FE certification
Membership inASHRAE, orNFPA
Knowledge of the Uniform and International Plumbing Code
Knowledge of fire protection systems
Knowledge of International Energy Conservation Code
Courses in sustainability orUSGBC participation
AutoCAD or Revit drafting skills
Internship experience in engineering-related firm both consultantor contractor
Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field
Confirmed ability to perform in a paid work environment with intermittent supervision
Past historyof technical presentations and technical writing
Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field

Houston Hiring Range
Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Houston is$19.00 to $32.00 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Houston will differ.
