MTC Plant Operations Supervisor in Houston, Texas
Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Supervisor to lead their team in a newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX.
The Plant Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of the facility. This role focuses on ensuring that all facility systems, infrastructure, and equipment comply with regulations, security protocols, and healthcare standards. The Director of Facilities will work closely with correctional leadership, healthcare staff, and external contractors to maintain a functional and secure environment that supports high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions:
Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance and daily operations, ensuring the efficient and compliant management of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural integrity, while maintaining optimal environmental conditions, waste treatment, clinical air and vacuum systems, fire safety, and emergency provisions, regardless of external conditions.
Ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance to avoid disruptions in healthcare services and in coordination with security personnel.
Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards and identify areas to reduce maintenance and utility cost through improved operational procedures.
Oversee waste management, biohazard disposal, and environmental safety procedures.
Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards while collaborating with security personnel to maintain a safe environment.
Act as the liaison with third parties and security personnel for all remodeling, renovation, and construction projects as it relates to product standards, design standards, scheduling shut downs, and system interruptions, and meet regulation and infection control standards for these projects.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including local, State and Federal regulatory agencies, The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Public Health (DOH), insurance carriers, and others as needed.
Maintain facility readiness for inspections and audits by regulatory agencies.
Develop, implement, and test emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and disaster recovery.
Manages and maintains the facility Statement of Conditions.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred). Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a healthcare setting with at least 3 years full-time, wage-earning experience in the supervision of employees. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements to include physical agility test and pass an annual background check.
