Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and experienced HR Manager to lead and evolve our HR function during a key phase of growth. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations while building scalable processes, strengthening internal partnerships, and supporting a culture of accountability and performance. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, coach, and operator.
Job Duties:
· Manage, coach, and develop a team of HR Generalists and support staff
· Foster a collaborative, high-performing HR team that acts as a true partner to the business
· Oversee the administration of benefits, leave programs, and payroll in partnership with Finance and external vendors
· Ensure HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks are compliant, current, and effectively communicated
· Lead internal audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
· Navigate both union and non-union environments with a strong understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and employee engagement strategies; support consistent, compliant, and collaborative workplace practices across all settings
· Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and other ER matters
· Support a consistent and fair approach to performance issues while minimizing risk and promoting engagement
· Partner with leadership and corporate recruiters to support strategic hiring needs across departments ensuring timely, compliant, and candidate-friendly experiences
· Lead onboarding efforts that drive early engagement and reduce time-to-productivity
· Identify and implement improvements to HR workflows, systems, and processes to support a scaling organization
· Leverage HRIS and data to inform decisions, track key metrics, and streamline administrative tasks.
· Serve as a champion of company values and culture, supporting initiatives that enhance engagement, development, and leadership alignment
Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to leaders during times of change, growth, or organizational transition
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience required
· Five plus years of progressive HR experience with required
· Two plus years in a supervisory or HR leadership role required
· Two plus years of experience in union relations required
· Solid knowledge of HR functions including employee relations, benefits, 401k, payroll, and compliance required
· Experience managing and improving HR systems and workflows required
· Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices required
· Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility across diverse teams and stakeholders required
· Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills required
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment required
· Passion for continuous learning and contributing to organizational growth required
· Commitment to upholding core company values required
· Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background screenings required
· Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift 50 lbs or more for extended periods required
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Paylocity and Workable preferred
· Experience supporting a growing or restructuring organization preferred
· PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
