Carollo Engineers Financial Analyst in Houston, Texas

Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to help provide financial services to water utilities through financial planning, cost-of-service analyses, rate and fee design, and other financial studies.

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers in the development and execution of project deliverables

  • Develop Excel-based financial models to analyze utility financial plans, allocate costs to appropriate categories, and design rates and charges that equitably recover costs, as well as complete other quantitative and qualitative analyses

  • Aggregate, analyze, and validate large sets of data from multiple sources

  • Produce technical work products that are accurate, concise, and transparent

  • Assist with preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports

  • Exhibit appropriate professional behavior while interacting with clients and colleagues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering, finance, business, economics, mathematics, accounting, or other related fields)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Strong analytics experience or formal education in analyzing large datasets and summarizing them for the purpose of forming conclusions and recommendations

  • Excellent written skills, including reporting of analytical results

  • Excellent oral communication skills, including presenting analytical results to clients or stakeholders in a simple and concise manner

  • Creative, curious, and team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to work within a small team that may be spread across multiple geographic locations

  • Ability to work independently on specific assignments once direction is provided

  • Willing and able to travel overnight as needed (less than 30% of the time)

  • Must be a proactive self-starter who responds well to multiple and simultaneous tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or similar)

  • At least two (2) years of experience performing financial analysis functions in corporate or government organizations, preferably utilities

  • Modeling proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel and/or relational databases

  • Experience with statistical coding languages (e.g., R or Python) and dashboarding software (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI)

  • Technical report and proposal writing experience

Pay Range

$70,000 to $90,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
