We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Global Engineering team in Houston, TX or Freeport, TX.

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. As a member of the North American Engineering & Technical Expertise Controlling and Trade Compliance Team you will support the controlling activities of your assigned strategic unit. In this role, your focus will be to ensure that your area of responsibility fully complies with relevant standards, guidelines, and requirements in Tax, Legal and Financial Reporting.
In addition, you will manage processes on a site/area level to provide analysis and communication of cost and recharge trends, variance analysis of actuals, forecast, budget and ad hoc analysis. Your contribution to the success of the organization and BASF includes use of continuous improvement and digitalization in your assigned site/organization.

Facilitating the creation of realistic, yet challenging, budgets for the assigned area aligning with the demands of our Business Partners.
Managing month-end closing activities for the respective assigned area to provide analysis of results along with monthly and annual forecasts.
Utilizing digital tools such as BASF BWs and PowerBI to provide valuable information that will assist management in steering the strategic unit.
Conducting review meetings and playing an active role in the Service Demand Process.
Providing operational support and recommendations for areas of improvement to the Leadership team and Extended Leadership Team such as providing trend analysis, cost center deep dive, and variance analysis of actual results compared to budget and forecast.
Working with a forward-thinking mindset, identifying, driving and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that delivers value for BASF.
Being committed to compliance as you will be accountable for adherence to all applicable Financial Policies and Procedures.
If you...
Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
Demonstrate analytical and computer skills (particularly Excel & Power BI).
Showcase collaborating skills in guiding a cross-functional, diverse team of professionals.
Understand accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Exhibit high attention to detail, communication and adaptability skills.
Experience with SAP a plus.
