Description

We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Houston, Texas. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing general accounting activities, maintaining accounting systems and standards, and delivering key financial management reports. This role also involves supporting and maintaining SOX compliant internal controls and corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the company’s accounting records and ensure the accuracy of financial statements by managing general accounting department systems, policies, practices, and procedures.

• Aid in enhancing and implementing SOX compliance for financial controls, ensuring the right controls are in place to reduce risk.

• Support the coordination of reporting to the parent company and other related parties, ensuring prompt reporting and uploading of financial data into the corporate reporting system.

• Provide assistance during various audits by gathering and providing necessary information and documentation.

• Administer and maintain Blackline and Concur.

• Prepare and review accounting entries and account reconciliation.

• Collaborate with leadership to implement complex accounting processes under US GAAP and IFRS.

• Work closely with other functional teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting information.

• Perform month-end close procedures efficiently.

Requirements

• The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position

• Proficiency in conducting Month End Close procedures is necessary.

• An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Must have a detail-oriented certification, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing a team is necessary.

• Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills are needed.

• Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting is necessary.

• Should have a strong understanding of financial reporting and tax filings.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work is crucial.

• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Experience in a public company or public accounting.
