We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Application Development Enablement IT Advisor within our IT Application Development group based in Houston, TX. The Application Development Enablement team is responsible for various tasks within development. These include QA/QC, UI/UX, and building standard libraries for Oxy. The team is also responsible for maintaining the digital factory, which are application inherited from the business. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the performance and progress of application development projects, tracking key metrics and KPIs to assess project health and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop common services and components to reduce development time, decrease maintenance cost and increase the quality of applications.
  • Deliver a consistent look and feel across applications to increase ease of use and reduce training costs.
  • Collaborate closely with other IT teams, departments, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, priorities, and dependencies, and ensure alignment of development efforts with organizational goals.
  • Manage digital factory applications and develop a roadmap to modernize and improve each product.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in application development, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, motivating team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and technology adoption to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of application development processes.
  • Ensure software meets quality standards, is free from defects, and meets user experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, .Net, C#, Angular, and familiarity with modern development frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Experience with containerization technologies
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and Project Management Professional is a plus.
  • Experience managing diverse teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

 

Relocation will not be provided.
