Avangrid Service Company Lead Utility Arborist in Horseheads, New York
Job Title: Lead Utility ArboristIn office Location: Elmira, NY, Binghamton, NY or Vestal, NYReports to: Manager, Vegetation ManagementThe base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $85,900 - $107,375Job SummaryThis position, in the Customer Programs and Products group, develops and manages tracking and reporting methods, forecasts, positions in external market and new business opportunities for the Avangrid networks companies to meet or exceed growth, revenue and/or regulatory objectives. This is accomplished through superior collaboration with program and products staff and internal business areas including, but not limited to, marketing, sales, regulatory, legal, procurement, engineering, operations and senior management. Success also requires an understanding of local/state/federal market and regulations and the ability to influence utility regulators and legislators.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing strategic leadership in product development and leading the successful ideation, creation, planning and implementation of new and enhanced product, service and business offerings. Analyze and enhance existing offerings and recommend new products, services and businesses to improve the overall profitability, revenue production and strategic positioning of the Company in both the regulated and unregulated corporate realm. (30%, P)Serve as a Project Manager on strategic, mission-critical, high- risk or complex projects. Responsible for all product/program deliverables including by not limited to schedule, budget and revenue. Serve as Company liaison regarding business development matters at all public, private and corporate levels. (20%, P)Serve as company liaison for program/product initiatives with utility regulators, municipal leaders, industry peers, equipment manufacturers and trade allies to advance initiatives for the benefit of AVANGRID and customers. This involves active participation in industry/regulatory technical and policy working groups and presenting at municipal and industry workshops and/or conferences. (20%, P)Proactively manage relationships and work collaboratively with the energy sales, conservation and load management, key account and economic development teams to support achievement of AVANGRID and regulatory targets in these business areas. Provide mentoring leadership to these groups. (15%, S)Identify, initiate and lead process improvement through research, planning, change management and training activities to gain efficiencies which increase customer satisfaction, reduce costs and increase profitability. (15%, S)Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a related analytic discipline including, but not limited to, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business with a minimum of 7 - 10 years relevant experience in managing complex, technical programs or projects.Background in Forestry or Environmental fieldElectric & gas utility industry knowledge is required.Knowledge in the areas of energy markets structures, state and federal energy law as and local regulations.Results oriented with strong critical thinking skills - creative thinking, decision-making and problem solving.Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.)Attention to detail with strong analytical and negotiating skills.Excellent communicating and influencing skills with the ability to:Established subject matter expertise with ability to present complex, technical topics to internal and external audiences of various sizes and knowledge levelswrite proposals, reports and other documents in a clear and concise manner to advance program initiatives from a business and regulatory perspective read and interpret tariffs, regulatory orders, federal/local regulations and reportsStrong cross functional team skills, desire to serve co-workers and provide customers with excellent serviceProven ability to work independently and at all levels of the organization.Preferred QualificationsUtility tariff & rate experience;Master's DegreeIt is preferred that for this job, the candidate fulfills the requirements in terms of levels indicated below.
