Phoenix V LLC Customer Service Representative in HONOLULU, Hawaii

POSITION SUMMARY

Join BEI Hawaiis leading distributor of agricultural and industrial chemicals, fertilizer and specialty products. Under general supervision, develops and maintains customer relations, and assists customers with product selection, education, pricing, and any delivery or will call requirements while performing administrative tasks. No previous product knowledge required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for processing orders via Sales Team, E-mails, phone calls and faxes in an accurate and timely manner.

  2. Communicates delivery requirements such as quantities ordered and requested delivery times to Iwilei Operations personnel.

  3. Updates delivery tags daily to ensure accurate sales figures and efficient A/R flow.

  4. Researches all outstanding pick slips and follows-up with customers in order to clear the pipeline report on a regular basis.

  5. Advises customers of applicable product changes, introduces new products, provides technical and safety information, and/or recommends appropriate products to customers.

  6. Balances cash drawer, prepares cash and credit card reports and routes money to Accounting Department personnel daily for processing.

  7. Assists in coordinating deliveries of bulk and/or drop shipment orders to customers.

  8. Handles customer phone calls regarding discrepancies on delivery tags and/or invoices.

  9. Processes credits and re-bills for corrections to customer accounts as necessary.

  10. Handles customer complaints and problems in a professional manner and within company policy.

  11. Ensures validity of licenses (e.g. Restricted Use licenses) and updates database as necessary.

  12. Learns the basic product lines sold by the company and is able to recognize and discuss products needed by customer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. One to two years of previous sales and/or office experience.

  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  3. Excellent attention to detail.

  4. Experience with and/or knowledge of the commodities the Company distributes - such as agricultural, turf and ornamental, pest control and/or industrial products - is not required, but desired.

  5. Demonstrated computer aptitude. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Experience with AS400 is not required, but desirable.

  6. Familiarity with, or ability to learn and understand, government regulations concerning the sale, usage and/or transportation of restricted and hazardous products.

  7. A high level of knowledge in general office procedures and various company policies relating to sales, billings, the price book, inventory and record keeping.

Physical demands:

  1. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  2. Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
