UH Manoa-Law, School Assistant Event Coordinator in Honolulu, Hawaii

[Duties and Responsibilities]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}

  1. *Assist the Event Manager in planning, implementing, and coordinating the internal and external events of the Law School.
  2. *Duties include supporting the Event Manager in helping with registration, facilities, meals, lodging, parking, audiovisual, marketing materials, program agendas and mailing.
  3. *Manage the Law Events email account and calendar
  4. Work with the Event Manager and Communication Specialist to initiate and maintain contact with the media to promote accomplishments of the faculty, including writing for and maintaining faculty web pages, biographies, and record of scholarship, publications, and presentations.
  5. *Provide similar support including the creation and design of written and electronic communications, flyers and website updates for the publicity and promotion of events for external and internal audiences.
  6. *Work with the Communication Specialist to enhance the design and update of the school's website and other communications media including but not limited to catalog, photo guide, annual reports, and newsletters.
  7. Assist in training students and other employees in organizing and implementing internal and external events of the Law School, publicity, promotions for external and internal audiences, and improving and updating website communications.
  8. Other duties as assigned

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, marketing, communications or related field or 0-1 years of event planning experience
  2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in events, public relations, marketing, promotion and communications demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with fundraising and event planning.
  4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the events and fundraising activities.
  5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  8. Demonstrated ability to utilize applicable software (such as the Canva, Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, Photoshop, and web design programs) to gather information, prepare reports and create graphics and programs.

[Desirable Qualifications [1. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fiscally responsible manner. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify causes and resolve the full range of problems that may occur in events managements. [2.
