Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition-free, full-time virtual school for students in grades K-12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED, and GACA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Working from the central office in Duluth, Georgia, the Compliance Advisory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate student data in Connexus, Schoology, Illuminate/FastBridge, Pearson Virtual School’s Data Views, and other district instructional platforms. The Compliance Advisory Specialist will also work collaboratively with the Director of Compliance to develop and maintain department-specific data dashboards to monitor the student accountability and lesson completion. The Compliance Advisory Teacher also assists with issues related to lesson participation, attendance, instructional interventions and student success plans.

All GACA staff must be able to participate in monthly in-person activities, including but notlimited to:

● School and department meetings,● Student engagement opportunities,● Required training/development,● School-level events, such as state testing and graduation.

This is a 10-month, full-time position.

The Compliance Advisory Teacher will be responsible for the successful completion of thefollowing tasks:

● Monitor student attendance and participation to ensure compliance with district and state policies.● Develop, oversee, and maintain student success plans and work with families to ensure adherence to school policies.● Identify students in violation of attendance or participation requirements and initiate appropriate interventions, including tracking and documenting compliance actions.

● Support families through the school withdrawal process, assisting with data collection regarding withdrawal.● Participate in daily on-camera office hours, providing support to students and caretakers and resolving compliance-related issues in a professional and timely manner.● Collaborate with school teams and staff members to address attendance, participation, and compliance concerns.● Oversee and maintain accurate compliance documentation and reporting.● Advise students and families during onboarding, addressing concerns related to lesson completion, participation, and attendance.● Assist teachers with integrating mid-semester enrollees by providing guidance on compliance expectations and ensuring accurate records.● Assist the state testing team to facilitate the administration of all district and state testing in-person.● Participate in district faculty meetings, staff training, and professional development, both in-person and virtually.● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.● Support professional development activities for school staff, both in person and virtually.● Perform Requests and manage data views containing platform access and student credential information, other district and/or compliance-related duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

● Georgia teaching (any field) or counseling certification.● Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.● Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.● Ability to manage confidential information.● Experience with Google & Microsoft Analytics tools such as Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI, and other similar web analytics tools.● Effective communication skills, both oral and written.● Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal prompting.● Team player with demonstrated flexibility and collaboration skills.

● Willingness to travel for required district events, which may require occasional overnight travel.● Special Education experience (preferred).● Bilingual (preferred).
