Eaton Corporation Lead Industrial Engineer in Hodges, South Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Lead Industrial Engineer. This position is located at our site in Hodges, SC and will offer relocation to the area.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Lead Industrial Engineer will lead optimization of our manufacturing processes, site footprint, and continuous improvement of our existing production lines and will support our continuous improvement culture by leading training efforts on lean tools as well as support kaizen events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Optimize manufacturing process designs, managing the layout planning and space allocation, both for existing production lines / warehouse and new product line introduction

  • Lead facilities layout planning activities through proper data collection, mathematical analysis and utilize digital factory layout planning software to design / maintain optimal layouts.

  • Lead the efforts in training lean tools (3P/ 5S/ VSM/ Standard Work / Lean Material Flow / TPM / SMED) to the shop floor.

  • Plan, maintain and execute factory kaizen event calendar.

  • Be a champion for creating a continuous improvement culture across the entire busway operations.

  • Responsible for establishing daily lean management system across all value streams.

  • Conduct work measurements, utilization analysis and line balancing for both existing and new product lines.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of labor standards (pieces per man hour) through VSM approach and create true capacity baseline to feed into SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) model for accuracy.

  • Establish the guidelines for right sizing the headcount through analysis done through value stream mapping and standard work.

  • Perform deep dive analysis using discrete event simulation, linear programming and other operations research methods to support significant decision making for scaling up Busway.

  • Work with facilities and infrastructure maintenance team on executing layout changes.

  • Improve existing product and new product launches through designing and implementing different assembly line models (semi / automated conveyance systems, flexible cell design, one piece flow, batch flow)

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

  • Three (3) years of experience in facility layout designs, CI lean manufacturing, and/or work measurement techniques

  • 3D CAD review abilities (ex. Solid works, Creo, Catia etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Industrial Engineering or related field

  • Ten (10)+ years of proficiency in performing factory layout designs, discrete event simulation (ex. ARENA/ Thingworx)

  • Strong knowledge of queueing theory

  • Ten (10)+ years of experience in leading CI activities and training on lean tools.

  • Strong computer skills (MS-Office / Power BI

  • Proficient in work measurement tools (MTM / Modapts / MOST
