Description
We are in search of a Payroll Assistant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in which you will be responsible for various tasks including processing garnishments, auditing timekeeping systems, and handling incoming mail.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process garnishments and support processes.
• Review and process new hires and transfers.
• Conduct regular audits of the timekeeping system.
• Handle verification of employment for all employees.
• Evaluate and sort incoming mail in a timely and organized manner.
• Maintain and update payroll and timekeeping system knowledge.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Distribute incoming mail to appropriate recipients.
• Accurately maintain and update payroll records.

Requirements
• Proficiency in payroll systems and procedures
• Familiarity with timekeeping systems
• Basic skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in sorting and distributing incoming mail
• Knowledge of garnishments and how to handle them
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Willingness to continue learning and improving skills related to the role.
