Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Virtualization Engineer to join their team, supporting a secure client located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This pivotal role involves modernizing legacy network infrastructure and migrating services into a new AWS Cloud Environment for a prestigious defense sector client. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented IT professional with a strong background in project management and virtualization technologies. This is a full-time position that promises challenging tasks and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee monitoring, administration, and recovery processes to ensure compliance with VMWare standards and policies.
• Manage the technical infrastructure and application environments, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness.
• Direct the capture and virtualization of production data, ensuring its integrity and availability.
• Evaluate server implementations to capture essential virtualization requirements accurately.
• Implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure the virtualization infrastructure adequately.
• Manage the encryption infrastructure for the hardware environment to ensure data security and compliance.
• Design, plan, build, configure, and maintain the virtual server infrastructure, optimizing for performance and scalability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or IT-related field with a minimum of five years of experience in IT infrastructure roles.
• Master's D egree in a relevant field with three years of experience or a PhD with relevant experience will be considered.
• Active Secret Clearance or eligibility for an Interim Secret clearance is required.
• Professional certification in VMWare Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization or Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization is highly desirable.
• Proven experience with VMWare vSphere version 6 and higher, VMWare vCenter, and VMware vRealize Suite Cloud Management Platform.
• Knowledge of VMWare Continuous Data Protection, DBaaS in VMWare Cloud, and VMWare Aria Suite.
• Familiarity with SAN solutions, ideally Dell EMC VNX, and experience with backup solutions such as Cohesity and Netbackup.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeho lders at all levels.
