About This Job

Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Jr. Systems Analyst to work on our Operations team. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of strategic deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

  • Perform professional technical work that requires general knowledge and diversified application of network engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques

  • Ensure execution of systems analysis and administration processes across the lifecycle, and report on project status and progress measured against specific plans

  • Research emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices

  • Any other duties, as assigned

Certification Requirement

The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date or must obtain such within 6 months of being hired.

Clearance Requirement

The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. An active Secret clearance is preferred but not required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • HS diploma and 7 years of relevant experience, or

  • BS/BA degree in computer science or computer-related field and 3 years of relevant experience, or

  • MA/MS degree in computer science or computer-related field and 2 years of relevant experience

The successful candidate should have:

  • Relevant experience in general systems administration, including configuration, maintenance, patching, and upgrades

  • A general understanding of the OSI Model

  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of systems administration management

  • Familiarity with monitoring system performance, documenting system changes, providing technical support to users, troubleshooting connectivity issues and implementing basic security measures.

  • Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with internal and external resources necessary to successfully complete assignments or projects

  • Experience proactively managing and prioritizing assignments, timelines, milestones, and follow-up communications

  • Experience utilizing DISA STIG checklists to assess and document compliance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

P referred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Configuring and installing various infrastructure storage, servers and services

  • Performing system maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

  • Monitoring performance and ensure system availability and reliability

  • Monitoring system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

  • Providing Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues

  • Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

  • Selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company s security team

  • Creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records

  • Ability to liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $63662 - $108225

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
