Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Field Health & Safety Specialist to join the Arcadis Construction Services (ACS) Group. The Field Health & Safety Specialist will support a long-term former molybdenum mine reclamation project in Questa, New Mexico. This position is designed for an individual with 4+ years of experience in the construction, environmental, remediation, and safety field who is familiar with heavy equipment operation and large-scale remedial/construction activity. As a Field Health & Safety Specialist you will work within the larger Global Resilience Business Area. Role accountabilities:

The Field Health & Safety Specialist will be involved in a variety of health and safety related assignments in support of an Arcadis project located in Questa, NM. Responsibilities will include the management and oversight of field crews during the performance of environmental investigations, remediation, and construction activities in accordance with OSHA, Client and Arcadis policies and procedures.

Additional responsibilities will include: Preparation of health and safety plans and other documentation. Use, calibrate and maintain various field safety instrumentation. Participate in or lead daily health and safety meetings. Perform worker and task observations to identify questionable behaviors. Identify and assist in mitigation of gaps in safe work practices. Work with team to develop appropriate solutions to mitigate site hazards. Participate in incident investigations, including 5-Whys, Root Cause Analysis, and Learning Team-Why Tree.

Qualifications & Experience: 4+ years' experience in Health and Safety Field, or a degree in H&S related field or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications 30-Hour OSHA Construction. Experience in Heavy Construction Health and Safety. HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training or current 8-Hour refresher.
