Amec Foster Wheeler Field Engineering Lead in Hides, Papua New Guinea
Wood is currently recruiting for a Field Engineering Lead to join our team in Hides, Papua New Guinea on a FIFO rotational schedule. Standard rotation 28/28 has been amended due to the current Covid-19 restrictions and quarantine requirements, an 8 week on / 6 week off roster is temporarily in place.
Reporting directly to the Senior Construction Superintendent, this position will provide engineering support on-site during the construction of the Angore Surface Facilities and Pipelines, ensuring that project’s safety, environment, and quality standards are met and that assets are constructed in accordance with the approved design and applicable technical standards.
Responsibilities
Assist and monitor Wood and client crews to ensure the pipeline and facilities are constructed in accordance with PNG Legislation & Regulations, Australian standards, project specifications, procedures, drawings, and documentation
Assist and monitor crews to ensure that Work packs are being adhered to and that the latest revisions are being used. Ensuring that documentation is completed and signed off once activities are completed
Being the focal point to locate and provide document requested by construction crews and for submitting permits
Act as a conduit for engineering information to be relayed between Melbourne project office and site office, allowing the engineering resources to be effectively used to support the project
ensure that Management of Change (MOC) processes are followed in conjunction with the engineering team
track the status of Free Issued Materials (FIM) and ensure that the handover is controlled and documented
provide notifications to Client of upcoming construction activities that require Notifications to the Regulator with sufficient time meet the requirement of the relevant legislation
participate in site HAZID’s and risk assessments completed on-site to provide engineering input and expertise
Provide other ad-hoc engineering support as and when required to assist the project as directed by the Project Manager or Senior Construction Superintendent.
To work with the Completions team to ensure that the pipeline and facilities can be pre-commissioned and that the required project documentation is completed and signed off at the end of the projects and handed over to Client Operations
Actively promotes excellence in H&S by communicating and adhering to site H&S expectations
Fosters an environment where personnel are developed and retained into a vigorous, productive, and enjoyable work environment
Develop short-term and long-term plans for the execution of work packs in conjunction with site crews and management
Provide leadership and mentor junior engineers.
Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the oil & gas industry with site experience
Must be used to working in a multi-disciplinary environment
Flexibility to participate in performing short / long term field / on-site duties
Proven track record in leading a design engineering team, with the ability to prioritise work to meet company and client deadlines
Sound technical knowledge and appreciation of other disciplines with ability to communicate technical and maintenance issues
Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors to help teams achieve goals
Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral
International assignment/project experience in similar roles will be highly regarded.
