Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Supervisor with a passion for leadership and excellence. The ideal candidate will have supervisory responsibility for 30-70 hourly associates and 4-6 operations coordinators in either our Ribbon or Flame Retardant production areas, depending on business needs. As a vital member of the HCF Leadership Team, this position reports directly to Operations and offers a clear path for career progression in Facilities, Engineering, Supply Chain, Technology, or Division Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment and proactively address unsafe conditions.

  • Lead production and/or warehouse activities to exceed goals for safety, quality, and cost.

  • Develop and coach team members, fostering accountability and rewarding high performance.

  • Encourage open communication and engage employees as business partners.

  • Optimize production schedules, equipment efficiency, and staffing for seamless operations.

  • Maintain world-class standards for housekeeping and product flow.

  • Oversee accurate payroll processing for employees' time and attendance.

  • Lead and participate in initiatives to achieve organizational objectives in quality, costs, inventory, production, and more.

  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean projects, capacity planning, and procedural enhancements.

  • Implement ISO-compliant procedures and correct inefficiencies to boost production yield.

Projects:

  • Manage and lead projects that optimize staffing levels and production flow.

  • Support the introduction of significant new products or processes.

  • Identify bottlenecks, reduce process variations, and enhance production efficiency.

Qualifications: Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or Technical Field.

Preferred:

  • MBA

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.

  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.

  • JMO

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.

The range for this position is $79,166.00 - $108,854.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
