Job Location: * Hershey, PA * Position Type: * Hourly The Hershey Company Reese plant is a Non-Union plant producing products such as Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups & Kit Kat, in a high-speed complex environment. We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Trainee. * Pay: * Starting Pay is $32.55/hour $1.00/hour additional shift premium for working 2nd or 3rd shift OT Potential Manufacturing Incentive Plan (MIP) Eligible * Total Rewards · Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, & Vision)—*Starting Day 1*! · 401(k) Retirement Plan – with generous company match · Hershey Stock Purchase Program · Tuition Reimbursement · Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability * Shifts: * · We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays. · Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs and will be discussed during the interview process. * Summary:* The Maintenance Trainee role provides an opportunity to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to become an Industrial Machine Servicer. The Maintenance Trainee is an interim machine servicer position with potential progression to Industrial Machine Servicer. Maintenance Trainees are responsible for repairing, adjusting, and maintaining various types of industrial equipment, as well as implementing preventative maintenance and lubrication programs for industrial equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * * Replace seals, bearings, worn or broken components and shafts. * Align gears, sprockets, motors, gearbox assemblies and shafts. * Remove and replace defective assemblies or subassemblies. * Repair, re-time, and adjust machinery in a reasonable length of time. * Effectively troubleshoot root cause failures/problems with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. * Setup and modify equipment for changeover to different items, weights, sizes and configurations * Overhaul equipment per specified technical plans. * Maintain area, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper manner. * Operate material handling equipment as required. * Complete all mandatory training. * Minimum Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must possess a High School Diploma/GED * Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English * Must be able to accurately use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) * Must possess hands on mechanical shop skills * Must have experience/ability to diagnose & correct mechanical problems * Must have understanding of basic pneumatic & hydraulic functions/components * Must have ability to interpret technical drawings & schematics * Must be detail oriented and demonstrate organized work habits * Must be flexible to work any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) * Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as scheduled * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs * Must be authorized to work in the United States * Must possess either a journeyman’s card from a state approved apprenticeship program or a minimum of 3 years in manufacturing systems maintenance or equivalent military experience * Must achieve a score between 60% and 73.6% on the written mechanical NOCTI test * Must have a basic understanding of PCs and basic computer skills * Preferred Qualifications:* * Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable * Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is desirable * Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology is beneficial * Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is preferred * Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferred * Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred * Experience working with machine tools & metal fabrication equipment is preferred * Physical Demands:* * Light to moderate physical effort required * Must be able to frequently lift up to 25-50 lbs * Regularly required to stand, reach, squat, climb steps, and move around machinery * Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms * Working Conditions:* * Work will be performed within a manufacturing facility * The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump caps, hair and beard nets, and gloves * Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement * Skills Attainment and Testing Results:* * The Maintenance Trainee will be permitted to take up to 2 classes at Reading Area Community College or another approved educational institute * The Industrial Machine Servicer Trainee must successfully pass the written and hands-on mechanical NOCTI tests within 1 year of their start date to maintain employment * Upon successfully passing the written and hands-on NOCTI tests, the Maintenance Trainee will progress to become an Industrial Machine Servicer * NOCTI can be taken once within a 6 month period The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
