Our Learning Product team is seeking a Senior Manager, Learning Product (Technical Product Management) who is customer obsessed and believes there is always an opportunity to improve the way customers discover and engage with learning. Our Learning Product team works with internal and external partners to create the best possible online and virtual learning experiences for skilling and certifying new and tenured Data Center Operations technicians. The team manages our learning technology platforms; negotiates with internal and external partners; maintains and operates our Virtual Reality based training; and evaluates and implements new technologies.

The ideal candidate is a creative leader with superior analytical abilities across business and technology. This opportunity requires excellent program management, technical problem-solving, and operational excellence skills. Knowledge of the following is required - service-oriented architecture, software development life cycle, and release management. At the core of the position is excellence in planning and execution. This position involves regular communication with senior management on roadmaps, progress, risks and change control. Technical design skills, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

As the Senior Manager you will represent our organization across AWS. This entails understanding the short, medium, and long term product and organizational goals, and translating these into an actionable technology roadmap and people growth plans. Your role will be tasked with management of technical product/program managers, systems administrators, and software developers – their growth and development as leaders.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead a team that delivers key business programs across Data Center Learning technology, and continuously improves our organizational efficiency and productivity as AWS continues to grow.

• Develop and implement cross functional technical engagement strategies for Learning technology.

• Understand the industry and technology trends, and uses this knowledge to innovate on behalf of our customers.

• Responsible to provide weekly core-team updates, deliver executive level updates on a monthly basis, and will be responsible for escalations in order to resolve any technical issues.

• Present to senior leadership via verbal updates and written narratives.

• Dive deep into technical systems, understand them well and stay connected to the details.

• Define strategy and build and execute road maps for the programs the team owns.

• Bring your expertise, problem solving skills, and creativity to add value to the team.

• Unify distributed process improvement efforts and own the plan to deliver quality outcomes for our customers.

• Work across orgs to ensure we continue marrying internal support capabilities with best-in-class customer experience as new services and features are launched.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of team management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
