We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This role is fully competent in the technical aspects associated with the energy solutions initiatives and programs including residential and non-residential photovoltaic solar.Provides oversight or performs solar photovoltaic project feasibility analyses including site evaluation of structural, electrical, civil, and/or environmental feasibility. Provides oversight or develops solar photovoltaic site layouts ensuring compliance with best practices and all applicable laws and codes. Manages or performs the development of technical scopes of work for non-standard vendor contracts. Provides technical reviews for solar electrical, structural, and/or civil engineering plans ensuring compliance with technical specifications. Manages and ensures vendor compliance with Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) contracts. Provides technical project management to solar PV designers, engineers, and construction contractors. Provides technical oversight to ensure Dominion’s safety and environmental practices and procedures are observed. Coordinates with local safety and environmental compliance manager to ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.Coordinates plant commissioning process including safety, development of system turnover packages, system walkdowns, punch list management, coordination with operations and system documentation.Manages or performs quality control and assurance inspections ensuring projects are constructed and commissioned to Dominion standards.Serves as the single point of contact and liaison for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) personnel, external vendors, customers and other stakeholders as needed.Provide oversight and technical advisory to internal and external operations teams through the EPC warranty period. Must possess knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems, technical specifications, applicable laws, codes, and best practices.

This role can be filled at either our Richmond or Northern Virginia locations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years directly related experience

Superior knowledge of distribution solar photovoltaic system design, design standards, and Company policies

Superior working knowledge of solar photovoltaic technology, system design, standards, and Company policies

Operational knowledge of or experience working within the solar O&M industry preferred

Operational knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems

Meticulous attention to detail with exceptional organizational and project management skills

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to network with multiple departments

Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff

Skilled in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite software

Cost control and reporting skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities

North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certification highly preferred; if not NABCEP certified, must demonstrate equivalent knowledge.

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
