Purpose of the Position: A performance excellence leader in manufacturing is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing strategies to optimize operational performance and enhance overall productivity within the organization. They play a crucial role in fostering a culture of excellence, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and ensuring the effective use of resources to achieve performance targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leading and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other improvement methodologies. This includes identifying improvement opportunities, conducting process analysis, and driving initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and eliminate waste.

Developing and implementing performance metrics, KPIs, and performance tracking systems to monitor and evaluate operational performance. This includes analyzing performance data, identifying trends, and recommending actions to address performance gaps and achieve targets.

Providing training and coaching to employees at all levels of the organization on lean principles, problem-solving techniques, and process improvement methodologies. This includes organizing workshops, facilitating training sessions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Leading cross-functional teams to execute improvement projects and achieve performance objectives. This includes defining project scopes, developing project plans, allocating resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Driving change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of continuous improvement practices and sustain improvements over time. This includes communicating the benefits of change, addressing resistance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality, and supply chain, to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions. This includes building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and driving alignment towards performance excellence goals.

Researching and implementing industry best practices and benchmarking initiatives to stay abreast of industry trends and drive continuous improvement. This includes conducting competitive analysis, participating in industry forums, and implementing innovative practices to en
