The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Technology Services Division. The Information Security and Compliance Bureau Chief works towards the mission of implementing and improving information technology (IT) that supports the Department’s mission to improve and protect the health, well-being, and self-reliance of all Montanan’s. This position serves over the bureau that provides IT security policy management, IT contract management, and Health Information technology (HIT) management. Responsibilities include: 1) Managing the security planning process for long range IT projects; 2) Coordinating division and department responses to federal and state IT audits; and 3) Providing direction to the division and department regarding compliance in areas of system security, procurement and coordinating correspondence with regulatory agencies. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * · Extensive knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security standards. · Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Version 4. · Knowledge of contract and grants management. · Knowledge of personnel management and supervision. · Ability to work with difficult customers. · Ability to communicate technical issues to a wide variety of customers. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Preferred: § Knowledge and experience of Information Technology services in the medical or health field. § Knowledge and experience in managing IT projects using the project management book of knowledge (PMBOK) framework. § Knowledge and experience in Health Informatics. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. o Five years of job-related work experience in information technology working with desktop support, server operations, or IT networks including at least 3 years of management of IT programs and supervision of staff and budgets. o Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. o Master’s degree in computer science highly preferred. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
