Licking County Surface Prep Lead in Hebron, Ohio

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose: The Surface Prep Lead is responsible for overseeing the surface prep operations in support of the production flow. The qualified candidate is to direct the team to:

Preparing Surfaces: o Surface Prep and Paint Leader will work on preparing helmets to meet quality specifications. Essential Duties: o Operating Equipment: Surface Prep and Paint painters use various tools and equipment in the department, ensuring safe and proper operation. o Surface Preparation: They prepare the helmets in accordance with work instructions. o Paint Mixing: Surface Prep and Paint Leader can mix paint according to specifications. o Color Selection: They select and mix coating liquids to achieve the desired color. o Application: Using manual or auto sprayers. o Quality Inspection: After painting, they inspect the finished units for any imperfections such as runs, sags, or unpainted areas. o Equipment Maintenance: Painters keep their tools and equipment clean and in good repair. o Safety Compliance: They follow safety guidelines related to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. o Cooperation: Surface Prep and Paint Leader will collaborate with other personnel during helmet preparation and paint. o Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations affecting department operations.

Qualifications: o To excel in this role, an individual should: ? Have a strong work ethic and attention to detail. ? Understand color theory. ? Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. o Education and experience requirements: ? High school diploma or equivalent with related experience. ? One-year certificate from college or technical school. ? Two to four years of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. • The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
