Description
As a Staff Accountant specializing in non-profit accounting, you will play a key role in assisting our clients, overseeing financial transactions, preparing accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and funding guidelines for non-profit organizations. You will join Robert Half’s FTEP team of professionals and deploy your expertise to diverse projects for our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes, with a focus on non-profit entities.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and custom reports for non-profit stakeholders and grant compliance purposes.
Ensure adherence to GAAP accounting standards and non-profit reporting guidelines, including tracking expenses related to restricted funds and grants.
Maintain and review general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
Support budgeting processes, donor reporting, and grant tracking specific to non-profit organizations.
Assist in preparing documentation for audits, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate effectively across Finance, Operations, and Fundraising teams to streamline processes that support non-profit goals.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit organization required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred. Advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with fund accounting principles a plus.
