Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Hayward, California
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk for a Contract-to-Permanent position in Hayward, California. In this role, you will handle a variety of financial tasks, including invoicing, account reconciliation, and collections. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while utilizing your expertise in accounts receivable processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and process all cash receipts, ensuring accuracy and timely recording.
• Prepare and issue quarterly tuition invoices and other miscellaneous charges.
• Oversee Federal Direct Loan operations, including fund drawdowns, disbursements, and monthly reconciliations.
• Maintain detailed spreadsheets for quarterly reporting purposes.
• Record transactions, post entries, and generate reports for the General Ledger.
• Safeguard confidential student files and ensure compliance with yearly audit requirements.
• Reconcile accounts receivable aging reports and address discrepancies.
• Prepare and file annual 1098-T tax forms with the IRS, as well as distribute copies to students.
• Handle collections for overdue accounts to minimize outstanding debt.
• Perform daily bank deposit preparations and ensure accurate record-keeping. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong skills in billing, cash applications, and cash collections.
• Experience using Excel for data management and reporting.
• Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics or a similar accounting software.
• Ability to manage aging accounts and ensure timely collections.
• Knowledge of tuition billing processes is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
