Usual emphasis would be on implementation of policies/procedures through subordinate nursing staff, as formulated by the LTC Administrator.

The Director of Nursing for Skilled and Long-Term Care is responsible for the quality of care provided for each resident, and assumes overall responsibility, as appointed, for the operation of the Skilled and Long-Term Care Units. ::: ::: :::

::: {testid="richTextElement" ariaattributes="[object Object]"} JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Responsible to: LTC Administrator
  2. Keeps the LTC Administrator abreast on all problems or changes as they occur.
  3. Provides continuous supervising guidance to the Charge Nurses, professional and non-professional staff.
  4. Establish rapport and coordinate with Ancillary departments on all matters related to resident and nursing Quality Improvement.
  5. Regular contact with residents and families in relation to resident care.
  6. Interact with physicians on a continuous basis in order to provide assistance on problems in resident care or personnel.
  7. Provide assistance and/or support to any community activity, upon request for any special health related program or activity.
  8. Takes necessary self precautions, and manages residents and employees against infectious disease. Also, insures environmental precautions for supplies and waste. :::

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelors degree preferred, or at least experience in nursing leadership and management, and demonstration of administrative ability.

Training and Experience: Current Registered Nursing licensure in the state of Missouri. Five (5) years' experience in progressive nursing management and leadership.
