This position has been designated as On-Site.

Our Thermo King business is connecting our transport HVAC and refrigeration products and providing digital solutions to help our customers efficiently protect drivers, passengers, and cargo. Using our connected solutions, our customers reduce fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and downtime while increasing the comfort and safety of passengers and shelf life of cargo, including essential cargo like food and pharmaceuticals.

We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I in Hastings, NE that will focus on supply chain projects relating to the Manufacturing plant process to ensure a robust supply chain. In this role, you will coordinate, organize and supervise production process methods and engineering activities that enable production. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Propose design change requests for improved manufacturability

  • Review Deviations and Design Change Notices for feasibility in existing manufacturing process

  • Ensure Operations team members have tools necessary to perform their standard work

  • Improve manufacturing processes to reduce Safety risks, Internal Defects, & Warranty Claims

  • Support Lean Enterprise initiatives

  • Coordinate work activities with internal and external service providers, (including Electrical and Mechanical work) to support key projects

  • Support Sustainability Initiatives

  • Support teams with Updates to Standard work, PFMEA and Control Plans

  • Issue POs necessary for Expense and Capital Projects

  • Present project justification for Capital expenditures

  • Manage controlled documents

  • Support NPD and Productivity Projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) OR enrollment in a program of Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Or an Associates program designed for transfer to a BS in Engineering program) with 3+ years of lead or technician experience in the Hastings Thermo King facility

  • Experience with design of process, managing equipment operation, or DFM.

  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean leadership development and/ or 3P preferred.

  • Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
