- Analyze a variety of specifications from blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize product to be made.
- Must have knowledge to lay out stock, as well as set up and operate machine tools and hand tools.
- Fit and assemble components to make, maintain, and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, bushings, collars, gages, and mold patterns.
- Compute dimensions, decide on machining to be done, plan layout and assembly operations.
- Verify the dimensions, alignments, and clearances while using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gage blocks, thickness gages, and micrometers.
- Adapt to new methods, processes, material, and equipment.
- Record data on employee time/job card.
- Report work shortages to Manager/Supervisor.
- Recommend production efficiency and quality improvements to supervisor.
- Comply with safety regulations and ensure cleanliness in tool and die area to include all tools, benches, and machines.
- Immediately report incidents and accidents in work area.
- Participate in an environment and culture that promotes safety in the workplace.
- Attends and contributes to department and Company meetings.
- Develop constructive relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants and governmental agency representatives as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
