The International Card Services (ICS) FP&A team leads the end-to-end forecasting and financial planning processes for the ICS segment, providing decision support to senior Finance leaders by producing P&L reports and analyses, bringing forward analytical insights, and carrying out thorough financial planning. Delivering on these key goals requires high levels of analytical rigor, financial thought leadership, knowledge of the P&L, strong collaboration across teams, and relationship-building skills. Spend has been a key area of focus through the years and will continue to be incredibly important in 2024 & beyond. The Finance Manager based in Gurgaon will jointly lead the Spend Vertical with primary focus on developing insightful financial analyses and frameworks across the Spend Margin, improve forecasting and planning models, and prepare and present materials for ICS Finance & Business Leadership reviews. This is a high-visibility role with exposure to senior leaders across different Finance teams. As such, the ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and planning skills, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Annual Plan and Long-Range Planning processes for ICS Spend vertical in close partnership with multiple stakeholders across BU FP&A, HQ & Market Lead Finance Officers (LFOs), Finance Decision Science (FDS), Risk Finance and Controllership

  • Monthly results analysis for Spend vertical, developing useful insights to support better understanding of business performance, key trends and it’s impact on future performance

  • Manage ongoing Risks & Opportunities assessment for Spend lines

  • Deliver useful and actionable insights on the ICS Billings performance and it’s future trajectory through careful study and analysis of past and future trends, market dynamics and macro-economic environment

  • Support Deep-dives, ad-hoc analysis on key Revenue & Expense lines

  • Lead/ support various Finance Transformation Projects, focus on continuous process enhancement through innovation and automation

  • Develop insightful content and analyses for presentation to senior leaders across business and finance

  • Coach & develop the team and build a culture of learning and collaboration

Functional Skills/Capabilities

  • In-depth understanding of AXP businesses and of the P&L

  • Experience of AXP Financial Planning process while supporting any of the Segment/ BU P&L would certainly be a great advantage

  • Strong analytical skills, experience of managing large data set using data mining techniques [e.g. SQL, Python, SAS] would be an added advantage

Technical skills

  • Must be very proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong hands-on experience on platforms and tools such as TM1, Power BI, Oracle Smart View

  • Strong communication skills, with ability to articulate and communicate in a crisp, clear, and unambiguous manner

  • Demonstrated ability to solve unstructured problem statements and handle ambiguity independently

  • Ability to work in an agile environment , manage multiple stakeholders while dealing with rapid change

  • Ability to handle high pressure environment with aggressive deadlines while balancing long term / short term impacts and multiple priorities and customers

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, groom, and manage talent to gain maximum efficiency and productivity. Nurture and enhance the teams data expertise and consulting skills
