CVS Health Senior Software Development Engineer in Hartford, Connecticut

Position Summary

The Senior Software Development Engineer designs, develops, and implements digital solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and defining the technical architecture and infrastructure required for digital solutions.

  • Writing code, developing software components, and implementing complex functionalities according to project requirements.

  • Collaborating with other members of the development team and stakeholders to make high-level architectural decisions, proposes design patterns, and ensures scalability, performance, and maintainability of digital solutions.

  • Leveraging advanced programming skills to design and implement complex features, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency.

  • Integrating various software components or systems, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between different parts of the digital solution.

  • Writing and executing comprehensive test cases, conducting code reviews, performing debugging, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the reliability, stability, and high quality of digital solutions.

  • Participating in agile or other development methodologies, attending meetings, contributing to project planning, and helping drive the progress and success of digital projects.

  • Exploring new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions and drive innovation within the development team.

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, code documentation, and other relevant documentation while sharing their knowledge and expertise with team members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and collaboration.

  • Creating detailed release plans, involving multiple initiatives, stakeholders and processes.

  • Leading on and offshore teams, providing guidance, assigning work and mentoring while executing on capacity and forecast planning.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years Software Development experience

  • 5+ years Mark Logic (NoSQL) experience

  • 3+ years' experience with SQL, Microsoft, .Net, Microsoft Azure, Core Java, AngularJS & Angular (2.0 or above), Java Spring Framework and Unix Shell

  • 3+ years' experience with design, problem solving, solutioning, planning and executing to plan

  • 3+ years' experience working with HR, Payroll, Talent & Recruiting data, integrations and downstream systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

  • Cloud Certified DevOps Engineer

  • Adept at problem solving and decision making skills

  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork

  • Adept at growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Self-motivated, requiring little oversight

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
