Altec's primary products include Aerial Devices, Digger Derricks, Cranes, and Specialty Equipment - Made in America -- that can be found across the U.S. and in over 100 countries around the world. In addition to our 8 major manufacturing facilities, Altec has three final assembly plants, 40+ service centers and an extensive network of mobile service technicians who travel to customer sites. The supervisor will enable technicians to provide quality repair and maintenance of equipment, such that all jobs are completed with regard to Altec's values while achieving customer goals.

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Connecticut to be considered for this role. Connecticut preferred.

Basic Qualifications for Entry-Level:

High School Diploma or GED AND

• Four years of industry-related experience OR
• A bachelor's degree with some industry-related knowledge

Basic Qualifications for Supervisor II (may be preferred):

Bachelor's Degree AND two years of supervision, industry-related preferred

OR

High School Diploma or GED AND five years of industry-related supervision

• Travel 0 - 25%
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required
• General PC skills required
• Excellent communication skills required
• Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
• Current valid Driver's License may be required
• Ability to read and interpret required manuals, prints and schematics preferred

We are there from the engineered design, through manufacturing and final assembly, with technical sales support and solution-driven direct sales, with forward-thinking marketing and RandD, and there for the life of the equipment with troubleshooting and repair, parts, and product support.

Major Responsibilities

• Work with Mobile Service Technicians (MST) and customer to establish the most efficient and effective schedule for the MSTs
• Monitor and supervise daily activities (customer repairs, expense management, fleet maintenance) to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability
• Enable continuous training for new and current technicians.
• Have safety and environmental considerations and regulations figure prominently in mindset and practice.
• Ensure efficient and effective work methods
• Champion and implement process improvement.
• Responsible to communicate with Material Control department to ensure proper parts are available for each job to prevent interruption of production while meeting customer requirements
• Maintain consistent communication with Altec Sales Account Managers in the territory to foster positive relationships between the account manager, technician, and cus omer
• Foster team spirit in concert with Altec Values to maintain a successful Service Group within the overall Altec organization.
