Description:

This position is for the Greater Hartford Advocacy Center near Mt. Sinai Rehab Hospital

Position Purpose

Triages patient inquiries and telephone calls. Schedules new patient consults in EPIC and performs all related tasks associated with new patient intake. Serves as coverage partner to other intake staff members and similar positions. Assists clinical and administrative staff as needed

What you will do

  • Interact with interested parties; i.e., physicians, patient, family members as needed to obtain appropriate information

  • Perform intake assessment of prospective patient

  • Initiate all new patient screening and intake

  • Schedule appointments and diagnostic procedures for patients

  • Organize patient charts being sure that required forms are available in the charts

  • Organize the daily patient appointment schedule according to established format and timeframe

  • File all patient correspondence and log information in the patient charts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

  • Minimum three years’ experience in medical office setting

  • Must have ability to type 45 wpm

  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) highly desired

  • EPIC experience highly desired

The Greater Hartford Family Advocacy Center ( GHFAC ) on the Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital campus (659 Tower Ave) is a safe and family friendly place where professionals come together to provide trauma informed and evidence-based services to support children and families impacted by violence and abuse. Founded in 1995 with a grant from the Aetna Foundation, the GHFAC has over 25 years offering forensic interviews, family advocacy, mental health services for children and adults, as well as prevention education for caregivers, community members and other professionals interested in sexual abuse prevention and child safety.
