Humana Informatics Lead in Hartford, Connecticut

The Informatics Lead coordinates with other analytics, IT and business areas across the organization to ensure work is completed with insights from knowledge SMEs. The Informatics Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Informatics Lead coordinates with other analytics, IT and business areas across the organization to ensure work is completed with insights from knowledge Subject Matter Experts. The Informatics Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Informatics Lead leverages its advanced knowledge of data, modeling, optimization, and tools. Applies disciplined analytics to predict behavior and optimize programs and products to maximize revenue growth. This individual utilizes advanced or predictive modeling to develop, test and validate cases that improve the outcomes and quality of the programs we offer. This individual contributes to more innovative approaches to financial models as it builds knowledge of the business context in which it operates. This individual understands and analyzes complex data, articulates to various units within the company at the appropriate level, impacts the business from mathematical concepts which have a potentially sizeable dollar impact on the business. This individual advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. This person exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. This individual uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Minimum 4 years of data analytics and technical experience

  • Proficiency in using technologies such as SQL, R, Python, and/or SAS

  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Experience in defining and executing measurement programs

  • Experience with advanced analytics, including program evaluation and optimization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Able to articulate and present findings and insights to senior leadership

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in business intelligence and data visualization platforms (Power BI, QlikView, Tableau), ASA, Hadoop or similar tools

  • Leadership experience

  • Prior experience in healthcare space with an emphasis on insurance

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$117,600 - $161,700 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
