Trinity Health Histotechnician - FT Days in Hartford, Connecticut

Description:

St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Lab Hartford, CT 40 hrs, Day Shift:

This person is responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities involved in histologic preparations. Troubleshoots minor equipment failures, prepares reagents, solutions, and control slides. Prepares reports and ensures that quality control criteria are approved by the pathologist. May provide training and modification of SOP’s pertaining to Special Stains.

Position Hours:

40 hours, Day Shift

Requirements :

  • Education: Associate degree in accredited Histotechnician program

  • Experience: 1 yr experience as a Histotechnician preferred.

  • Certification: HT ASCP required; or must obtain within one year of employment (new grads)

  • Job Skills: Must have experience in the following areas: Fixation, Microtomy, Processing, Staining, IHC
