About the Role:

As the leader in data in motion and the original authors of Apache Kafka, Confluent operates at enormous scale, supporting the mission-critical data needs of many thousands of customers. Around a hundred engineering teams work together daily to deliver compelling data streaming, connectivity, governance, and stream processing products to our diverse global customers. All of this work is enabled by our highly reliable, flexible, and powerful platform services that enable teams to move quickly while delivering consistent and capable experiences that fit well with each other and into our customers’ environments.

This role is a direct report to the CPO and leads our platform product management team of around 20 professionals, helping to maximize the impact of the work of several hundred platform engineers.

What You Will Do:

• Work closely with the CPO and the Product Line PM leaders to mesh our strategic company goals with individual product goals and our platform capabilities/architecture roadmap

• Ideate, design, and deliver next-generation platform capabilities that enable new products, increased customer scale, and consistent, secure, and usable customer experiences

• Evolve and reignite our platform product management approach to maximize joint engagement with product teams on customer outcomes and shared success

What You Will Bring:

• A minimum of 7 years of product management experience, ideally in B2B and with developer-focused products

• 10+ years of leadership experience

• Experience leading platform teams to deliver a foundation that maximizes product velocity, reliability, and consistency

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

What Gives You an Edge:

• Experience leading platform product through an evolution from basic compute, networking, storage, authentication etc, to a complete set of platform capabilities, including user interface, authorization/policies, regionalization, resource management etc.

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $259,200 - $324,000 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
