Our client, a non-profit Healthcare Organization & provider of healthcare services dedicated to serving the community with compassion and excellence, is adding a Controller to their team! This role will be an on-site position in the Hartford, CT area.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Controller to join the team and oversee many financial aspects of a non-profit healthcare organization. The Controller will be responsible for managing financial planning, accounting, and reporting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of non-profit financial management, healthcare, compliance, and a commitment to the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Manage the organization's financial resources efficiently and effectively to support strategic objectives.
Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance, and provide regular reports to senior management and the board of directors.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
Develop financial forecasts and projections to support long-term planning and decision-making.
Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to identify areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
Accounting and Reporting:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and tax professionals.
Grant Management:
Manage grant accounting and reporting processes to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Work closely with program managers to track grant expenditures and prepare grant reports for funders.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing non-profit organizations.
Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective internal controls and risk management practices.

Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit healthcare organization or similar environment.
Must have experience working within non-profit and healthcare recently!
Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements, including grant accounting and reporting (e.g., GAAP, IRS regulations).
Experience with financial software systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
