Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision components for clutches, brakes, and power transmission parts.

Responsibilities

  • Start the machines and check fluids, adding coolant and hydraulic fluids as needed.

  • Set up lathe machines and tools, including measuring and touch tools.

  • Begin the actual running of the machine to cut parts.

  • Set up offsets and start cutting pieces.

  • Consistently make bore sets and jaws on the CNC lathe side.

  • Manage two CNC lathe machines, ensuring proper speed feeds, dial board, shop gauges, and tolerances.

  • Operate G-Code machines (Daewoos, Matsuura).

Essential Skills

  • 5-10 years of CNC setup experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Experience using metrology tools.

  • Hands-on experience running a machine from educational training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

This role reports directly to the CNC Lead and involves partnering with Machinists for training. The work environment is a machine shop focused on producing brakes, clutches, and power transmission components. Our shop has 38 employees and fosters a family-like, friendly atmosphere. Management is easy to work with, and the environment is casual yet productive. Thick skin and a positive attitude towards direction are ideal traits for candidates.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BOLTON, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
