DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this internship, the selected candidate will be tasked with analyzing datasets vector and vector-borne disease data. Responsibilities will encompass the analysis of data related to tick populations and the incidence of tick-borne diseases, alongside involvement in arbovirus research, which includes the comprehensive surveillance project for the West Nile virus. The intern will engage with the public, offering evidence-based guidance on strategies to mitigate the risks associated with vector-borne diseases. Additionally, the role involves attending office meetings and participating in conference calls. As time allows, student interns will also have the chance to contribute to other projects within the office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: This is a part-time internship starting in May 2025. You will work 15 to 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule. This position will require travel to work sites. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or higher with a focus on epidemiology or public health. Good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher). Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
Additional Requirements: You must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
