Reference #: 4432796 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is currently seeking a meticulous and driven individual to fill the position of Motor Vehicle Program Supervisor 1 within the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As the Motor Vehicle Program Supervisor 1, your role includes ensuring that all state statutes and regulations related to violations of the vehicle safety inspection program and the vehicle emissions inspection program are being followed. You will have the task of independently reviewing and evaluating reports from field auditors statewide. These reports will cover the actions of inspection stations, dealerships, safety inspectors, and mechanics. Based on your assessment of these reports, you will determine the appropriate course of action. This may involve directly following up with the inspection station or mechanic, scheduling a departmental hearing, or ordering the immediate suspension of the station or mechanic.

Alongside these responsibilities, you will also supervise and prioritize case summaries for review by the hearing review panel. You will be responsible for making independent recommendations for sanctions against mechanics, stations or dealerships. Another important aspect of your role will be to plan, supervise, and coordinate the application of state laws and regulations for imposing sanctions on violators of the vehicle safety inspection program and the emissions inspection program. This requires a clear understanding of the Pennsylvania vehicle code and the vehicle and equipment regulations for enforcement purposes. Lastly, you will be responsible for establishing operational procedures, production standards, and providing direction to clerical staff involved in sanctioning inspection stations and mechanics.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with 60-minute lunch. This position is eligible for an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS). Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in line management or administrative staff work in a public or private organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
